Why in the News?           In recent developments, the Parliament has enacted the Constitution (106th Amendment) Act, 2023, a pivotal move aimed at securing one-third reservation for women in the Lok Sabha, State Assemblies, and the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. Key Provisions of the Act Articles Amended: Article 239AA: Ensures the reservation of one-third of seats for women in the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. Articles Inserted: Article 330A: Mandates the reservation of one-third of seats for women in the House of People (Lok Sabha), including the reservation under Article 330 for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs). Article 332A: Prescribes the reservation of one-third of seats for women in the Legislative Assembly of every State, along with reservation under Article 332 for SCs/STs. Understanding NCAP:   Bharat NCAP's core mission is to enhance road safety by assigning star ratings to vehicles based on their performance in rigorous safety examinations.  These tests encompass assessments of both adult occupant (AOP) and child occupant (COP) safety, offering consumers a simplified means of comparing safety levels across different car models prior to purchasing. This Post is based on the article "Koosina Mane: Redefining childcare" Which was Published in The Hindu on 17th August 2023 .  "Koosina Mane" is a scheme introduced by the Karnataka government in its 2023-24 Budget.  The scheme aims to set up child homes or creches across 4,000 gram panchayats in Karnataka.  Its primary purpose is to provide healthcare, nutrition, and safety for children whose mothers are employed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), as well as for other mothers in the vicinity. This initiative is significant for several reasons: Boosting Women's Labor Force Participation:  The MGNREGA mandates that a certain percentage of beneficiaries be women.                     Project Tiger , a Centrally Sponsored Scheme under the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, Government of India, was launched on April 1st, 1973 , during the tenure of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Its primary objective was to secure a viable population of Indian Tigers in their natural habitats, shielding them from the brink of extinction, and safeguarding ecologically significant areas as a natural heritage that represents diverse ecosystems across the country's tiger range.           In the early 20th century, India boasted an estimated tiger population of about 40,000.
